I think I have SM but I’m waay better than I was. I had to learn to try and live a little better because I got very lonely. I don’t want to be fearful of what people think of me. I want to be optimistic. Mostly for my mom.

wow this song is powerful and so true. selective mutism is never noticed at an early age because parents always blame it on just being shy. they refuse to belive that their child has problem.

    I’m speechless - …
I’m speechless - seriously, no pun intended. My son has been diagnosed with SM. My family and Brian’s Pre -K teachers, especially, are working hard to help him. When I heard this song and read the lyrics my jaw dropped - I’m a huge Beatles fan & love Paul McCartney’s solo work (mostly, from Geatest Hits album). Needless to say my kids have grown up listening to the Beatles. My question is where did he get the inspiration for this song?

Paul loves to hear back from his fans at how his songs have affected their lives. I would suggest writing to his publishing company and telling him how “She’s Giving Up Talking” has affected them and you never know…he could respond =]
